Would you be filled
With real virtue fit for a ÿaraõa,
How can you get experience
Unless you leave
Goodness and passion, anger, ignorance?
Unless you leave malice and vanity,
Unless you leave
The tainted body, bound
With six pernicious passions and ten airs?
It is beyond the unrighteous man,
To attain the gentleness of the ÿaraõas,
The practice of the faith, true vows,
None of these seats I want!
Without renunciation of the world:
But give me, O Kíðala Saþgama Lord,
That is reserved
Room on the one-seat throne

The snare goes roung the mount:
The hunter brought the net of sin
And flung it down is front of the beast.
Although the huntsman beat the game,
The quarry is not decoyed;
The beast that has been caught
Within the net that Hara has spread
Has made a meal
For Kíðala Saþgama!

For body's pot, the ingredients
Is energy; equipoise is water,
The senses are pincers;
The fire of knowledge being fed,
And the broth thickened to a point
With reason's spoon, to make him sit
Within your heart and serve
The food of joy that is
For Lord Kíðala Saþgama a meal.
